The affiliated nonprofit national vocational student organization is FCCLA –Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. This organization provides local, state and national level programs for competition and recognition for students to promote personal growth and leadership through Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Culinary Arts Principles (Culinary Arts 3 - 4)
Grades: 10 - 12 This course is an advanced study of culinary arts application and hospitality using professional cooking and baking methods. Students will become proficient in menu planning, use of equipment and time management practices for meal service. Students will continue to develop employability skills and business knowledge through food service projects, food business projects and group projects. Topics included are: leadership, safety, sanitation and first aid procedures; emphasis on food preparation, interpreting recipes and use of commercial equipment Students will be expected to participate in FCCLA projects to develop their personal and professional goals. Culinary Arts Applications (Culinary Arts 5 - 6)
Grades: 11 - 12 This course is for juniors and seniors who want a full three year program. Skills in this course will provide an opportunity for students to master skills that were introduced in the Culinary Arts 3 - 4 classes. Students will be expected to hold an office in the FCCLA organization. Internships may also be arranged as a portion of this course. Campuses: Chino Valley Culinary Arts 7 - 8 (Potential Dual Enrollment)
Grades: 11 - 12 This course is for juniors and seniors who want a full three year program.
