Career and Technical Education For High School Students

 

Mountain Institute is excited to offer you a variety of career and technical education programs.  Love solving problems? Love cooking? Or flying? Or taking care of people? Whether you were that kid who made a fortune off a lemonade stand or the kid who took things apart to see how they worked, we have a program to brighten your future.

We offer two classes of programs:

  1. Central Campus Programs that are open to all students, and
  2. Satellite Programs are offered at high schools throughout the district. If you go the school where the program is offered, you can enroll in those programs.

Central Campus Programs

The career and technical education programs at the Central Campus are open to ALL students. Note: Several programs are offered both centrally and at the high schools in Bagdad and/or Ash Fork. 

 

Aviation Technology

Are you fascinated by the world of flight? Aviation was designed for you. In two years with MIJTED you can receive FAA ground school certifications in air traffic control, fixed-wing flight and helicopters.

Automotive Collision Repair

Prepare to enter the field of auto body and collision industry by learning frame and body repair, painting, upholstery, special effects and graphic design.

You’ll gain a strong foundation that prepares you to enter the critical field of medicine. Learn about common diseases and disorders, their prevention, diagnosis and treatment, as well as emerging diseases and new biomedical therapies.

In this exciting program, you’ll learn camera, lighting, and sound techniques; cinematography, producing, directing, and editing; and you’ll actually create a visual story.

Sports Medicine

Gain insight into the demands and stress that sports puts on the body, sports-related injuries and rehabilitation, and managing an athletic training room.

Learn about the operation and configuration of network hardware, including routers and switches. You’ll configure TCP/IP and configure client and server operating systems to operate in a variety of network environments.

Drafting & Design

MIJTED Students learn drafting

Architects design the space in which they live, work, and play. They learn to use a broad range of material and are trained to imagine structures that answer the human need for both beauty and practically.

Agriculture

Students learning in farm setting

Learn the principles of plant and animal growth and production, including cell biology, nutrition, and the seven levels of scientific classification. Gain the knowledge and skills associated with agribusiness marketing, business plans, investment opportunities, and the use of technology to accomplish objectives.
